The USFDA has approved Cymbalta (duloxetine hydrochloride) to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain, including discomfort from osteoarthritis and chronic lower back pain. Cymbalta was first approved for its indication for treatment of major depressive disorder.

Torrent and Zydus got tentative approval for Duloxetine DR capsules
Gujarat based 2 pharma majors, Torrent pharma and Zydus healthcare received tentative approval from USFDA for Duloxetine delayed release oral capsules. They have filed ANDA against the Cymbalta the innovator product. Cymbalta is used for treating depression and generalized anxiety disorder. It is used for managing pain caused by fibromyalgia and diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
